"Casa Esquilo" is a large stone detached farmhouse set in 1200m2 of terraced land overlooking the stream that borders the property. There is also a detached ruin that could be converted into another dwelling. The farmhouse is one of 8 rustic houses that form a small village just outside the town of Espinhal (located 25 kms south of the city of Coimbra) . The farmhouse is sited 25 metres off the quiet country lane that winds its way through the hamlet and up the mountain to the next village. Across the lane, at the side of the stream are the ruins of what once was a water mill. The mill also belongs to the farmhouse. There is a small bridge in front of the property that crosses the mountain stream. To the left of the bridge are the stone constructed ruins of what once were animal enclosures for the goats, pigs and chickens. The property faces south and enjoys beautiful woodland views across the valley. The house has had a trussed roof fitted around 10 years ago and some repairs have been carried out to the gable end walls. The inside of the property requires renovation to all rooms and the connection of mains water and electricity supplies which are close at hand. Once restored the Casa would make a superb 3-bedroomed detached dwelling in an ideal setting. The town of Espinhal with all its modern amenities is a 10 minute walk away. www.kevinormston.com
